01

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, written story, optional voice recording, song preferences, names and details about people in the story, revision requests, and support messages. We also receive order identifiers, package choice, payment status, and limited transaction details from our payment processor; Dear Chorus does not receive or store your full card number.

02

Information collected automatically

Our website and service providers may collect device and browser details, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, referral source, timestamps, and security or diagnostic logs. Story drafts and recordings may be saved in your browser so you can return to them. If analytics is enabled, it helps us understand aggregate traffic and improve the customer journey.

03

How we use information

We use information to save your draft, create and human-review your song, process and confirm orders, operate private delivery pages, provide downloads and revisions, communicate with you, prevent fraud or misuse, troubleshoot problems, comply with law, and improve the service. We do not publish, advertise with, or train public-facing examples on your private story or song without separate, explicit permission.

04

Creative processing and service providers

Authorized tools and service providers may help host the site, store private files, process payments, send email, transcribe recordings, organize story details, support creative production, measure site performance, and protect the service. They receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and operate under their own contractual and privacy obligations. Creative tools may process submitted text or audio, but final delivery remains subject to human review.

05

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to service providers acting for us; to professional advisers; to comply with law, court process, or valid government requests; to protect customers, Dear Chorus, or others; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of business assets. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use private story content for cross-context behavioral advertising.

06

Retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Because ongoing access to a private song page is part of the service, finished files and associated order information may remain available until you ask us to delete them or the service is discontinued. Payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute records may be retained when legally or operationally required. Deletion requests are completed from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to legal holds, required records, and limited backup retention.

07

Your choices and privacy rights

You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal information associated with your order, or withdraw optional permission to feature a song. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply. We will verify requests before acting and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. You can also limit optional analytics through browser controls.

08

Security and private links

We use private storage, access controls, encrypted connections, and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Anyone with a private delivery link may be able to access the song, so share it only with intended recipients and contact us promptly if a link should be replaced or disabled.

09

Children and other people’s information

The service is intended for purchasers age 18 or older and is not directed to children under 13. A song may be about a child or another person, but the purchaser is responsible for sharing only information they are authorized to provide and for avoiding unnecessarily sensitive details. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information directly.

10

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and will apply prospectively. For questions or privacy requests, email John@DearChorus.com and include the order number when relevant; never send payment-card details or a private delivery token by email.
